We asked Carolyn for some more info on her experience with Skype, and this is what she said: “Skype has made a HUGE difference in my life as for $5.95/month I can call whenever and for as long as I like 24/7! They gave me a “Skype to go” number which is local and then I input the phone numbers I want to call. I call my STG number on my regular phone and it lists the name of my calling numbers, dials it and it’s free!! (well, except for the monthly subscription). It would be cheaper if I paid for 3 mthy or yearly but we are paycheck to paycheck so… For US calls a subscription is $2.95/month for unlimited calls (no contract)… The calls are good quality too. They have a lot of extras such as texting, video calls, voice mail, etc.“

1 Mommas159 November 8, 2009 at 8:17 pm: I use Skype and LOVE it. I use it to call my parents and my brothers. The best part is that my kids use it often to SEE the grandparents. We do not have a paid plan only the free computer to computer. The built in webcams on the Mini laptops make it very convenient. We have given house tours, had out of town guests "join" our parties all thanks to Skype.
